Officials in Afghanistan’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation have announced the launch of a direct flight route from Khost Airport to Saudi Arabia.
The ministry released a statement confirming that the first direct flight from Khost province to Saudi Arabia took place on Wednesday, November 13.
Officials added that this inaugural flight from Khost Airport was destined for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
According to the ministry, the flight was operated by the private airline Kam Air.
Ministry officials also stated that with the launch of this direct route, there will now be a weekly flight from Khost to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
This new flight route represents a significant step for Afghanistan’s connectivity and opens up more opportunities for Afghan citizens, especially those undertaking religious pilgrimages or seeking work in Saudi Arabia.
Increased international flights from regional airports like Khost may further boost economic ties and enhance Afghanistan’s transport infrastructure, improving access for travelers and contributing to the local economy.
