‘I’m going to chop your hand off’: Alleged murder details revealed

A teenager who was allegedly murdered in south-west Sydney bushland is being remembered as a “loving and selfless boy” who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.

The 15-year-old boy found dead in bushland in Sydney’s south-west can’t be named, but those who loved him most want him remembered

It was around 10pm on Friday when police believe the teenager left a campsite with his friends at Maldon Weir in Wilton and spotted a car nearby with Jacob Greig inside the passenger seat.

It's alleged Jacob Greig, 32, stabbed the victim during a row near Sydney.

The boy approached, pulling the door handle off before an altercation ensured, police claim.

According to police, the teen told Greig, “I’m trying to get home” before the accused allegedly charged at him yelling, “I’ll f—ing get you good, I’m going to chop your f—ing hand off”.

Greig allegedly slashed him across his right forearm before the boy jumped onto the car as it started and fell off.

The accused allegedly left him for dead and dumped the knife in a bin at his Picton home.

It wasn’t until 7.30am the next day that the boy’s friends walked from the campsite and found him unresponsive on a patch of grass 30 metres from where it all allegedly unfolded.

Eight hours after the discovery was made, police say the 32-year-old father handed himself in to Narellan police station. He was charged with murder this morning.

Greig’s lawyer today made an application for bail, arguing the chef was the sole provider for his pregnant partner.

The magistrate refused, saying the evidence was far too powerful and a potential conviction could carry several years behind bars.
