Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Tuesday that Iraq’s oil exports to the United States surpassed six million barrels during October.
According to the EIA, Iraq’s crude oil exports to the United States in October were approximately 6.16 million barrels, more than Iraq’s oil exports to the US in September, when they reached 5.97 million barrels.
The average of crude oil exports from Iraq to the United States during the first week of October were 241,000 barrels on average per day; in the second week, 70,000 barrels; in the third week, 237,000 barrels; and in the fourth week, 216,000 barrels on average per day.
The EIA mentioned that Iraq was the fifth-largest oil exporter to the United States during October, following Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela.
According to the EIA, Canada was the largest oil supplier to the United States in October, followed by Mexico.
The United Nations COMTRADE database estimates that the entire value of US crude oil imports from Iraq in 2023 was around $6.01 billion. Despite variations in import levels over time, this number highlights Iraq’s significance as a major oil supplier to the United States.
Iraq remains one of the key sources of crude oil for the United States, contributing to its energy supply amidst a complex global oil market.
