‘Screaming and chaos’: Brisbane man tells of horrifying gunpoint home invasion

A Brisbane man has told of the horrifying moment gun-wielding intruders burst into his Chermside home while his family was inside.

The man, who doesn’t want to be identified, came face-to-face with the three men before his stepson was forced to step in.

He told 9News his stepson grabbed a hammer from the hands of one of the home invaders.

“Yeah he’s grabbed the hammer of one of the s— —- and stuck it in his back,” the man told 9News.

“That’s when there was screaming and chaos. They all ran.

“They got dinged up a bit and off they ran, scurried out.”

Asked if the intruders had picked the wrong house, he agreed.

Police arrested the three men on a nearby street.

One of the intruders was taken to hospital with lacerations to his back.
