Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Zain Qureshi Resigns as Deputy Parliamentary Leader

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Zain Qureshi has resigned from his position as the party’s deputy parliamentary leader in the National Assembly. This decision comes after he received a show-cause notice from the party for his alleged indiscipline during the passage of the 26th constitutional amendment.

Zain Qureshi stated that he stepped down to ensure an impartial inquiry and has responded to the show-cause notice. He emphasized his loyalty to PTI founder Imran Khan and his father, Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

In a video statement, Zain revealed that his father advised him to go into hiding and denied supporting the constitutional amendment, refuting claims of his involvement. The PTI issued show-cause notices to several members of parliament, including Zain Qureshi, for allegedly defying the party’s instructions on the amendment.

The party directed all PTI MNAs and Senators to refrain from supporting the amendment and follow party directives. Zain Qureshi’s resignation signifies his commitment to transparency and accountability within the PTI.
