European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for prioritizing meetings with European Union leaders over attending a Russia-organized summit earlier this week. Despite Serbia’s close ties to Russia, Vucic affirmed the country’s stance on sanctions in a conversation with President Vladimir Putin.
