Israeli Strikes Against Iran: US Not Involved

An American defense official stated that Washington was informed beforehand but there is no US involvement in the Israeli strikes against Iran. The White House confirmed that President Joe Biden has been briefed on the strikes, which Israel conducted in response to Tehran’s ballistic missile attack against Israel on Oct. 1.

National Security Council spokesperson Sean Savett mentioned that Israel’s actions were in exercise of self-defense. Explosions were heard in both Tehran and Damascus during the strikes, with no further information revealed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were reported to be at the Defense Ministry building during the strikes. It was also reported that Gallant and Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi approved the plan to attack Iran.

Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that several military bases were targeted in the Zionist regime’s attack. Iranian state television confirmed the explosions in Tehran.
