US Visa Fraud: American Man and Afghans Arrested for Forgery and Fraud
U.S. National Security Agency agents have apprehended an American man, Martin Anthony Muller, and two Afghan citizens for writing fraudulent recommendation letters and engaging in document forgery under the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program. Martin Anthony Muller was arrested at Daniel K. Inouye Airport in Hawaii after arriving from the Marshall Islands.
Muller is accused of writing over 300 fake recommendation letters for Afghans applying for the special visa. Two accomplices, Mushtaq Ahmad Habibi and Dawood Kalantari, have also been charged. The trio faces charges of document forgery, wire fraud, and visa fraud.
The SIV program aims to assist Afghans who supported the U.S. government and its contractors, often risking their lives. Fraud in the program threatens national security and hinders genuine applicants from receiving help. Stringent vetting processes are crucial to protect program integrity and the safety of deserving individuals.
