Ukraine Allocates UAH 1.3 Trillion for Security and Defense Sector in 2024

In the first nine months of 2024, Ukraine dedicated UAH 1.3 trillion to its security and defense sector, with UAH 146.9 billion allocated in September alone. The Ministry of Finance shared this information on Telegram, emphasizing that this amount accounted for 57.6% of the total expenditures of the state budget’s general fund. The funds supported various needs, including salaries for military and police personnel, equipment purchases, weapons, ammunition, protective gear, fuel, food, medical care, and other necessary expenses.

This investment underscores Ukraine’s commitment to ensuring its national security and defense capabilities. In the preceding months, a total of UAH 1.2 trillion was directed towards these essential sectors, with UAH 152 billion assigned in August. The government’s continued support for these critical areas reflects Ukraine’s determination to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its citizens. Such significant financial allocations demonstrate the country’s prioritization of security measures to address current challenges effectively.
