Tehran Downplays Strikes, No Escalation Expected – Ya Libnan

Israel launched three waves of strikes on Iran in response to continuous attacks. Iran retaliated by launching missiles at Israel. The strikes targeted military centers in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam, resulting in two soldier deaths. Despite the attacks, there were no reported hits on Iranian nuclear facilities or oil fields as the US had urged Israel not to strike them. The US was informed but not involved in the action.
Secretary of State Blinken visited Israel and Saudi Arabia to ease tensions and promote a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. Iran downplayed the strikes, while Iran and Israel condemned each other’s actions.
The strikes marked the largest direct attack on Iranian territory since the Iran-Iraq war. Iran classified Israel’s actions as a violation of international law. A video showed Iranian air defenses intercepting Israeli projectiles over Tehran.
Overall, the situation remains tense, with both sides condemning each other’s actions. The possibility of further escalation remains uncertain.
