Ndume praises Tinubu’s currency reform and cabinet reshuffle in Nigeria – The Guardian News

Former Senate majority leader Mohammed Ali Ndume has praised the Federal Government’s de-dollarisation policy as a step in the right direction. He believes this move will strengthen the naira and enhance transatlantic trades with nations that do not rely on the US dollar, urging President Tinubu to lead Nigeria into joining BRICS.

De-dollarisation aims to reduce dependence on the US dollar in international trade, benefitting Nigerian businesses importing goods from countries like China. Ndume commended the policy and suggested a National Economic Conference led by respected economists to provide home-grown solutions.

He also lauded President Tinubu’s efforts in military procurement for combating terrorism, advocating for more recruitment, training, and equipment for security forces. Ndume praised the Cabinet reshuffle and the establishment of the Ministry of Regional Development, emphasizing the need for continued governance cost-cutting measures in the face of economic challenges.
