Moscow accuses West of training Ukrainian saboteurs to attack Russian nuclear sites

The British foreign intelligence service MI6 has been accused of training Ukrainian saboteurs to carry out provocations at Russian nuclear power plants, as claimed by Russia’s envoy to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia. The attempts by Ukraine to target nuclear facilities inside Russia have been deemed “beyond reckless” and could potentially lead to a “radiation nightmare” across Europe, Nebenzia warned during a UN Security Council meeting.

Moscow has credible information that Western intelligence agencies, particularly MI6, have systematically prepared Ukrainian sabotage groups to organize provocations at Russian nuclear plants, including attempting to blow up power lines connecting the plants to the energy grid. Despite accusations against Moscow concerning security around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, which is under Russian control, Nebenzia emphasized that these attacks are part of a deliberate terrorist strategy by Ukraine.

The envoy called for condemnation of Ukraine’s “provocative actions” by international bodies to prevent further attempts to undermine the security of nuclear sites in Zaporozhye and Kursk. It is fortunate that Russian military intervention prevented a potential disaster, averting a “genuine man-made catastrophe in Europe.”
