Mikati condemns Israel’s deliberate targeting of journalists as ‘war crime’

In a tragic event in south Lebanon, caretaker prime minister Najib Mikati condemned Israel for deliberately targeting journalists in an airstrike that resulted in the death of three media workers. Mikati referred to the attack as a “war crime” aimed at terrorizing the media and covering up atrocities.

Information Minister Ziad Makary also criticized the strike on a journalists’ compound as an “assassination” and “war crime,” with 18 journalists from seven media organizations present at the site in Hasbaya.

Two staffers from Al-Mayadeen TV and one from Al-Manar TV were among those killed. Al-Mayadeen’s director Ghassan bin Jiddo held the Israeli occupation responsible for the deliberate targeting of journalists in this atrocious act.

The Israeli military has not responded to inquiries about the incident, leaving the media and international community in shock and outrage over the loss of innocent lives.
