Justice Yahya Afridi Sworn in as 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan

Justice Yahya Afridi was sworn in as the 30th chief justice of Pakistan during a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. President Asif Zardari administered the oath of office, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir in attendance, along with all judges of the apex court. Justice Afridi will serve in this top judicial role for the next three years following the 26th constitutional amendment.

Mr. Justice Yahya Afridi, born in Dera Ismail Khan, has a distinguished background in public service and legal education. He received his education from prestigious institutions such as Aitchison College and the University of Cambridge. With experience in both international and labor law, Justice Afridi has served in various legal roles before his appointment as the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
