Israeli strike shuts down last hospital in north Gaza

The health system in Northern Gaza is in crisis after an Israeli invasion destroyed the last operational hospital, leaving around 200 critically wounded patients at risk of imminent death. The director of field hospitals at the Palestinian health ministry, Marwan al-Homs, warned of the dire situation during a live interview, stating that all drug supplies were destroyed by Israeli forces.

The assault on Kamal Adwan Hospital began with air strikes that targeted the medical oxygen generator, causing fatalities among children and injuring medical staff. Israeli troops then raided the hospital, detaining patients and staff, and depriving them of essential supplies.

The attack has drawn condemnation from the World Health Organization, with the director-general calling for an immediate ceasefire to protect hospitals and patients. This incident is part of a broader Israeli offensive in the region, which has already shut down two other hospitals due to attacks and shortages of resources.

This assault has been denounced as a war crime and a crime against humanity, emphasizing the urgent need for international intervention to prevent further loss of life in Gaza.
