Israeli Official warns: Attacking Iran will spark ‘Prolonged War’

A senior Israeli official and retired general of the country’s army, Brigadier General Amir Avivi, stated that any Israeli attack on Iran would initiate a larger conflict between the two countries, not limited to a single strike.

In an exclusive interview with Iran International, Avivi disclosed that Israel’s goal is to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, and any attacks on Iran would be just the beginning of a prolonged war. He mentioned that the war’s duration would depend on the U.S. presidential election outcome.

Avivi also hinted at potential surprises prepared for Iran but did not provide specifics. He expressed concerns about a possible appeasement policy towards Iran if Kamala Harris becomes the U.S. president, leading Israel to act independently. Avivi suggested that an alliance of Sunni countries might oppose the Shia axis in the region in the future.

The recent drone attack on Netanyahu’s residence, allegedly orchestrated by Iran through Hezbollah, has intensified tensions, allowing Israel to contemplate targeting Iranian leadership directly. This situation signifies a significant escalation in the already volatile relationship between the two nations.
