Gaza Civil Defense Hindered by Ongoing Israeli Offensive

The Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza is struggling to respond to emergency calls from residents in northern Gaza’s Jabalia due to the devastating 22-day-long offensive by Israeli forces. The Civil Defense has reported that they are unable to provide help to residential homes that have been targeted and burned in the area.

The ongoing Israeli aggression has completely halted Civil Defense operations in northern Gaza, with personnel being targeted and threatened by direct attacks if they try to conduct rescue missions. The Israeli ground incursions and bombardments are causing widespread displacement in the region.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire, Israel continues its offensive on Gaza. The Israeli actions have resulted in the deaths of nearly 43,000 people, mostly women and children, and left over 100,500 others injured.

The blockade imposed by Israel has led to severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, displacing almost the entire population of Gaza. Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the region.
