Imran’s sisters released on bail in capital protest case-Pakistan

Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan Released on Bail

Two sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, were released from Jhelum District Jail after being granted bail. They were detained for leading a protest in Islamabad. Family members and party workers welcomed them with rose petals and supportive slogans outside the prison.

Aleema Khan claimed they were kept isolated and lacked basic facilities like TV and phone calls. The release came after Imran Khan’s wife was granted bail in a separate case. Their bail was granted on the condition of surety bonds of Rs20,000.

The sisters were initially headed to Islamabad but later went to Lahore under police security. Meanwhile, a contempt petition against Adiala Jail officials was disposed of after assurance of no further restrictions on visitors. Imran Khan’s legal team had filed a case against the prison administration for hindering his right to meet his lawyers.

Overall, the back-to-back bails and legal proceedings surrounding Imran Khan and his family have sparked widespread interest and speculation.
