Hungary’s valuable journey towards renewable energy sources.

The Federal Minister of Energy, Mining, and Industry Vedran Lakić recently met with the Minister of Energy of Hungary Csaba Lantos during a two-day visit by the delegation of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This meeting, which included key figures from both countries’ energy sectors, focused on sharing experiences and knowledge in the transition to renewable energy sources.

Minister Lakić emphasized the importance of learning from Hungary’s successful shift from thermal power plants to renewables like solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and hydrogen. The Hungarian Ministry of Energy, in existence for only two years, has a plan to primarily rely on renewables by 2050.

Both sides expressed a willingness to collaborate and assist each other in their green transition processes and European Union accession efforts. The delegation also included other federal ministers and directors of public and private energy companies seeking business cooperation opportunities with Hungarian partners.
