The Georgian Embassy in Dublin was bustling with activity as people lined up early in the morning to cast their votes. With 1,745 registered voters from all over Ireland, the turnout was ten times higher than in previous elections. The chairperson of the Parliamentary Election Committee emphasized the importance of this election for Georgia’s future.
Despite the long queues, voting proceeded smoothly without any reported issues. Voters like Marina Shaverdashvili expressed their satisfaction with the organized process. Maggei Kurivichrrishoili traveled from Killarney to participate, highlighting the significance of the decision between Europe and Russia.
Georgian residents in Dublin, such as Kakhi Gigauri and Eka Tevzadze, emphasized the importance of moving towards Europe. They believe that the power lies with the people to shape the country’s future. With tensions rising between Georgia and the EU, the election holds crucial implications for the nation’s trajectory.
