Faecal contamination expected at multiple Sydney beaches

Some of Sydney’s most popular beaches and bays are facing potential faecal pollution today, with warnings issued for Cronulla, Botany, and several beaches in north Sydney. Areas like Carrs Park Baths, Frenchmans Bay, and Gymea Bay are also affected, among others.

Areas like Avoca, Parramatta River, and Sandy Bay are advised caution for swimming due to potential risks, according to the NSW Government Beachwater website. Bronte and Coogee beaches, however, are declared safe for swimming after recent testing.

Live updates on water quality in Sydney are available on the NSW Beachwater website, with Environment Minister Penny Sharpe urging caution, especially with an expected wet summer ahead.
