SpaceX founder Elon Musk has urged people to stop donating to Wikipedia, claiming it is controlled by “far-left activists.” Musk criticized Wikipedia for its alleged biased editing practices, citing a report by Pirate Wires that highlighted pro-Hamas editors influencing the Israel-Palestine narrative on the platform.
According to Musk, around 40 Wikipedia editors have been working to delegitimize Israel, promote radical Islamist groups, and present fringe academic views on the conflict as mainstream. In response, the Delhi High Court issued a contempt notice to Wikipedia for failing to disclose information about edits on the ANI entry page.
Despite Wikipedia’s criticism of Musk and his social media platform X, the billionaire remains firm in his stance. He expressed satisfaction in knowing that Large Language Models (LLMs) are using Wikipedia data instead of platforms like Twitter for information dissemination.
