Bayraktar TB3 UCAV Enters Mass Production
Exciting news in the defense industry as Turkey’s Bayraktar TB3 unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) has officially entered mass production. Haluk Bayraktar, chairman of SAHA Istanbul and CEO of defense firm Baykar, announced that the UCAV is set to be exported in the next five to six months.
The announcement was made during the SAHA EXPO 2024 in Istanbul, where the defense industry showcased its rapid growth and global influence. The expo, which saw the participation of 1,478 companies including 766 international firms, finalized major export contracts valued at $6.2 billion.
Highlighting the success of the Turkish defense sector, Bayraktar pointed out that Turkey’s defense exports reached $5.5 billion last year, with significant advancements in artillery ammunition production. The TB3 UCAV, an upgrade from its predecessor TB2, boasts the ability to land on naval platforms, enhancing Turkey’s defense capabilities.
