Tragedy struck in Wau town of Western Bahr el Ghazal State as a 22-year-old man lost his life in a suspected confrontation between security forces and gangsters during a birthday party at Hai Motomadia. Wau Town Mayor, Dasio William Taban, confirmed the incident and disclosed that eight youths suspected of drug possession, including marijuana, were apprehended. The suspected perpetrator, allegedly from the National Security Service, was still on the run.
Despite this unfortunate event, Mayor Taban assured the public that the situation was under control and the authorities were actively pursuing the criminal. He urged the victim’s family to remain calm, emphasizing that justice would be served.
