Four armed suspects were fatally shot in a confrontation with police in Ekurhuleni over the weekend. Gauteng police spokesperson Lt-Col Mavela Masondo confirmed the incident, stating that the suspects were involved in an armed robbery on the R59 road in Alberton.
Earlier in the week, seven suspects were apprehended after a jewellery store heist at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort. A shootout ensued, resulting in injuries to two officers and three suspects.
