Zille upset over dialogue exclusion from consultation.

DA federal chairpersonHelen Zille expressed frustration over the ANC sidelining the party in the planning of the national dialogue, a project proposed by Thabo Mbeki. Deputy President Paul Mashatile announced the date for the first dialogue, scheduled for December 16, without consulting the DA as a partner in the government of national unity (GNU).

This unilateral decision led Zille to criticize the ANC on social media for disregarding the collaborative nature of the GNU negotiations. She highlighted the need for joint planning and execution of the National Dialogue by all governance partners.

Aside from the dialogue, issues such as the exclusion of two clauses from the Bela Act by President Cyril Ramaphosa will also be addressed. The lack of consultation and collaboration between the ANC and the DA has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the GNU partnership in addressing national issues.
