Paedophiles lurk both in the real world and the online world, preying on unsuspecting children. Prosecutors in Northern Ireland recently dealt with a chilling case involving Alexander McCartney, the largest and most depraved investigation of sexual offences they had ever seen.
More than 70 victims were likely targeted by McCartney, but many remain unidentified. Chief prosecutor Catherine Kierans described the case as depraved and highlighted the bravery of the young girls who came forward to testify.
