Ukrainian troops in Kursk Region unaware of encirclement – Putin

President Vladimir Putin revealed that Ukrainian military units in Russia’s Kursk Region are unaware of the severity of their situation after being cut off from the border. Up to 2,000 Ukrainian troops have been encircled on Russian soil, with some units completely trapped in the region following a cross-border incursion by Kiev in August.

Putin expressed concerns that the troops may not realize they are in an encirclement, leading to a loss of stable command and control. He highlighted that Ukrainian forces have attempted to break through to the trapped units unsuccessfully, while Russian troops are advancing on the conflict front.

Despite the lack of progress in negotiations to end hostilities, Putin emphasized the importance of the Russian military remaining focused on their mission. He attributed their battlefield success to advancements in the defense industry and troops’ ability to adapt quickly to modern military technology.
