Two suspects shot dead in police shoot-out following KZN crackdown.

Another two suspects linked to serious crimes met their demise in a shoot-out in Inanda just a day after police vowed to crack down on criminals in KwaZulu-Natal. The suspects, wanted for offenses including murder and robbery, were found in the Nambia area and engaged in a fatal exchange of gunfire with the police.

Col Robert Netshiunda, police spokesperson, stated that the suspects were also connected to recent house robberies and an attempted murder in the Inanda area. The police team acted on intelligence to locate the suspects, leading to the shoot-out.

During the operation, a firearm and ammunition were recovered from the suspects. This weapon will undergo ballistic testing to determine if it was used in other violent crimes in the region.

Police minister Senzo Mchunu, together with other top officials, had recently launched a festive season campaign in Inanda to address the high crime rates. Mchunu revealed that 107 suspects have died in police shoot-outs since August last year.
