Turkish airstrikes in north Iraq destroy 34 terrorist targets, ‘neutralize’ militants

Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry announced the successful destruction of 34 PKK terrorist targets and the neutralization of a significant number of terrorists in a recent air operation in northern Iraq. The airstrikes targeted PKK positions in Hakurk, Gara, Qandil, and Sinjar regions, conducted under the right of legitimate self-defense and with the aim of safeguarding Türkiye’s borders and citizens.

The operation, which utilized domestically produced munitions, focused on eliminating caves, shelters, hideouts, and other facilities used by the separatist terrorist organization. The Turkish Armed Forces remain steadfast in their commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the security of the nation.

The military action was prompted by a recent terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries headquarters in Ankara, resulting in casualties. Turkish authorities neutralized the perpetrators, emphasizing the ongoing threat posed by organizations like the PKK, responsible for countless deaths over the years.
