Three Benue LG chairmen injured in motorbike accident

The Benue State government’s delay in providing official vehicles to newly-elected local government chairmen has raised concerns about their safety. Reports indicate that many chairmen are resorting to using motorcycles for transportation, putting them at risk of accidents and injuries.

Since the council elections on October 6, where the APC won all 23 chairmanship seats, the chairmen have not been provided with official vehicles despite receiving certificates of return. This has forced them to use motorbikes for official duties, leading to accidents and injuries.

Concerns have been raised about the safety and security of the chairmen, with reports of accidents resulting in minor injuries and dislocations. The delay in supplying official vehicles has been described as an embarrassment to the office of the chairman and the grassroots.

It is crucial for the Benue State government to prioritize the safety and well-being of the council chairmen by promptly providing them with the necessary resources to carry out their duties effectively.
