Spy Ring Exposed: Iranians Arrested for Espionage in Israel
Recently, seven individuals from northern Israel were charged with espionage for Iran after allegedly conducting a year-long surveillance operation. The suspects, recruited by an Iranian agent, took photos of sensitive military and strategic sites, including air force bases, defense batteries, ports, and highways.
The group’s alleged leader, Aziz Nisanov, maintained contact with Iranian handlers while his deputy, Alexander Sadikov, coordinated assignments and payments. The cell also included Nisanov’s son, two minors, and three other members.
The indictment details a comprehensive list of locations surveilled, ranging from military bases near Ashkelon to observation balloons near Golani Junction and multiple airbases. The accused also scoped out power plants and radar installations. The extensive operation spanned months, revealing a sophisticated network of spies and handlers.
These arrests shed light on the ongoing threat of foreign espionage within Israel and the need for heightened security measures to counter such activities.
