The Sokoto State House of Assembly has given its approval for the continuation of subsidised food supply and other essential commodities to the people of Sokoto State. This decision came after the state government recently distributed food items at subsidised rates to alleviate the economic challenges faced by the citizens.
The initiative, spearheaded by Governor Ahmed Aliyu, received commendation from the assembly members who moved a motion to write a commendation letter to the governor for his efforts in helping the common people. The assembly acknowledged the governor’s commitment to addressing the economic hardship in the state by providing subsidised rice across all wards.
In addition to the continuance of the subsidised food programme, the assembly also approved a motion to rehabilitate livestock water pools in certain communities to enhance socio-economic activities in those areas.
This comprehensive approach towards improving the livelihoods of the people of Sokoto State demonstrates the government’s dedication to ensuring the well-being and welfare of its citizens.
