Rome meeting urges end to suffering of women, children in Tindouf

The Association of Sahrawi Women for Democracy and Human Rights, based in Spain’s Las Palmas, called for an end to the suffering of women and children sequestered in Algeria’s Tindouf camps at a meeting in Rome. Aïcha Rahal, president of the association, highlighted the international support for Morocco’s autonomy plan to resolve the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

Rahal also expressed her opposition to any efforts to undermine the Kingdom of Morocco. Souad Sbai, President of the Association of Moroccan Women in Italy, emphasized the momentum of support for Morocco’s autonomy plan and praised the progress in the Kingdom’s Southern Provinces under King Mohammed VI.

This meeting, attended by Lorenzo Fontana, President of the Italian Parliament, and other dignitaries, discussed the situation of women in Morocco and called for further efforts to empower women in society. The event aimed to shed light on the plight of those in the Tindouf camps and advocate for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
