Punjab police praised for eliminating 10 terrorists in Mianwali, Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended Punjab police for eliminating 10 terrorists in a successful joint operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Mianwali police. The operation, based on credible intelligence, targeted a group of 10 to 15 terrorists in a hilly area under Makkarwal Police Station’s jurisdiction.

Under the leadership of Mianwali DPO Akhtar Farooq and elite force support, the operation resulted in the neutralization of 10 Khawarij individuals after a firefight. PM Shehbaz lauded the police’s swift and effective response, emphasizing a continued crackdown on terrorism to ensure national security.

In a bid to combat terrorism, the government officially labeled the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan as Fitna al Khawarij, urging all institutions to refer to terrorist perpetrators as “khariji.” With a surge in terrorist attacks, Pakistan faced 59 incidents in August alone, prompting heightened security measures like the 71 IBOs that led to the apprehension of nine terrorists from banned groups by Punjab CTD in September.
