President Aliyev approves two signed protocols with Belarus

In a recent development, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has approved two protocols signed with Belarus, aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of veterinary medicine and quarantine and plant protection. The protocols, signed in Baku on May 16, 2024, will bring about amendments and additions to existing agreements between the two countries dating back to 2007.

The primary goal of these agreements is to align efforts in animal health, disease prevention, veterinary control, plant health, pest, and disease prevention, and to foster scientific research in these areas. By incorporating international standards, the protocols aim to improve the coordination between Azerbaijan and Belarus in these crucial sectors.

Under the amendments, the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan will be designated as the authorized body, and additional terms will be included to further enhance cooperation. These initiatives signify a significant step towards promoting the well-being of animals and plants in both countries.
