The Moroccan National Tourism Office has just launched a groundbreaking direct flight connecting the vibrant city of Marrakech to the bustling metropolis of New York City. This exciting development is part of the ONMT’s strategic plan “Light in Action” for 2023-2026.
The flight will operate three times a week on a state-of-the-art Boeing 767-300 aircraft, offering 167 seats in United Airlines’ premium cabins. This new route aims to attract one million American tourists annually, showcasing Morocco’s rich culture, stunning landscapes, and luxurious hospitality.
To celebrate this milestone, a high-level delegation from United Airlines visited Marrakech, emphasizing the importance of this new connection. Additionally, American travel advisors were invited to explore Morocco’s diverse destinations, highlighting the country’s tourism potential.
The ONMT’s “Light in Action” plan aligns with the Ministry of Tourism’s goal of reaching 17.5 million tourist arrivals by 2026, positioning Morocco as one of the top 10 tourist destinations worldwide. With a strong focus on marketing, digital initiatives, air travel, and distribution, the ONMT is paving the way for a bright future in Moroccan tourism.
