Kyiv: Russia to send North Korean troops to combat zone on Oct. 27-28

**Russia Deploys North Korean Troops to Combat Zone in Ukraine**

Russia is set to deploy North Korean troops to the combat zone in Ukraine on Oct. 27-28, President Zelensky revealed on Oct. 25. This move is seen as an escalation by Russia, contradicting Kremlin denials. Zelensky called for a strong global response to Russia’s actions and emphasized the need for pressure on Moscow and Pyongyang to adhere to international norms.

Ukraine’s military intelligence reported that nearly 12,000 North Korean soldiers, along with officers and generals, have been sent to Russia to support its military operations in Ukraine. The deployment of North Korean troops in Kursk Oblast, where Ukraine launched an incursion in August, signals a dangerous turn in the conflict.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces have been successful in targeting and destroying Russian air defense systems, including radar guidance equipment of Buk-M2 and Buk-M3 systems. These developments highlight the intensifying nature of the conflict and the ongoing military exchanges between Ukraine and Russia.

As tensions escalate, the international community must remain vigilant and united in its response to the unfolding crisis in Ukraine.
