Spokesman Dmitry Peskov says government bodies examining document, findings will be presented to President Vladimir Putin

Russia is currently assessing a draft proposal from Türkiye on resuming the Black Sea grain deal, presented during the BRICS summit in Kazan. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russian government bodies are reviewing the document, and their conclusions will be reported to President Vladimir Putin.

Peskov stated that the previous grain export agreement, allowing Ukrainian grain transit through the Black Sea, did not favor Russia, as it did not meet Moscow’s interests. While addressing the conflict in Ukraine, Peskov mentioned that Putin is seeking diplomatic solutions alongside the military operation.

The meeting between Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also touched on Middle Eastern conflicts, bilateral economic cooperation, and efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict through negotiations. Türkiye has been mediating to achieve peace in the region, with previous initiatives leading to the Black Sea grain deal. However, Moscow ended the agreement in 2023 due to restrictions on Russian grain exports.
