Kano governor insists on LG election despite court ruling

The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, remains steadfast in his decision to proceed with the Local Government election on October 26, 2024, despite a Federal High Court ruling against it. Despite the court’s judgment on the basis of NNPP members serving in the election commission, Yusuf asserts that the election will go on to maintain peace in the state. He presented NNPP flags to 44 candidates and emphasized the government’s preparedness and constitutional backing for the election. Despite fears of sabotage, Yusuf is confident in a peaceful and successful election outcome.

He called on NNPP members to actively participate and assured victory for the party in all positions. The Acting National Chairman of NNPP shared the optimism for a successful election, while the state NNPP Chairman praised the turnout of supporters at the event. With thorough preparations and confidence in the party’s support base, the stage is set for a smooth and successful electoral process in Kano State.
