Renowned American human rights activist Joe Stork has passed away at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated activism and unparalleled expertise in Middle Eastern politics. Stork’s impressive career included stints at Human Rights Watch, Middle East Research and Information Project, and Gulf Center for Human Rights. A graduate of Columbia University, Stork co-founded MERIP in 1971 and served as the editor of The Middle East Report.
