ISPR: Cadet killed in Lakki Marwat mosque attack

Tragedy struck in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district as armed terrorists attacked a mosque during evening prayers, resulting in the martyrdom of 19-year-old army cadet Arif Ullah. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the brave cadet fought back against the attackers, sacrificing his life to save others.

The incident highlights the ongoing threat of terrorism in Pakistan, with the government recently designating the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as “Fitna al Khawarij”. Security forces continue to work tirelessly to combat these extremist groups, as seen in a recent intelligence-based operation in Bajaur district where nine militants, including a high-value target, were eliminated.

Despite challenges, the spirit of sacrifice and dedication among security forces remains strong. The country has faced a surge in attacks targeting security personnel, particularly after the TTP ended a ceasefire agreement in 2022. These recent events underscore the ongoing struggle to maintain peace and security in the region.
