“We see the improvements,” Georgieva admitted

During a meeting in Washington DC, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva expressed the organization’s commitment to working together with Argentina to determine the best course of action for the country’s economy, as stated by Economy Minister Luis Toto Caputo.

Georgieva praised the improvements seen in Argentina’s economic indicators and emphasized alignment with the country’s priorities. Caputo, along with other key officials, met with IMF representatives to discuss a new payment program and potential financial assistance.

The Argentine government, under President Javier Milei, aims to establish a new agreement with the IMF, focusing on achievements rather than promises. Caputo acknowledged the lengthy negotiation process and hinted at potential fresh funds in the agreement, though no concrete figures have been set yet.
