“It is their job to bring us what Israel does not want us to see.”

Witnessing the horrors of war and reporting on it is the daily reality for Palestinian journalists in Gaza. Despite the constant danger and risk to their lives, they serve as the world’s eyes and ears, documenting the devastating impact of Israeli attacks on civilians.

Since October 7, 2023, over 130 journalists have been killed in Gaza, with the majority being Palestinians. These brave individuals, working for various media outlets, face threats, arrests, and violence as they strive to report the truth to the world. Western journalists are barred from Gaza, leaving Palestinian journalists as the primary source of information.

Despite the challenges they face, these journalists continue to fulfill their duty, risking their lives to shed light on the atrocities committed by Israel. Their resilience and dedication make them unsung heroes in the ongoing conflict.

Jeremy Salt, an expert in Middle Eastern history, highlights the courage and sacrifices of these journalists, emphasizing the critical role they play in bringing untold stories to light.
