Founder of Red is Bad, Paweł Szopa, Arrested in DR.

Founder of the popular Polish clothing brand Red is Bad, Paweł Szopa, has recently been arrested in the Dominican Republic after an Interpol Red Notice was issued against him. This notice, typically reserved for high-profile international suspects, was requested by Polish prosecutors and went into effect on October 10.

Despite Szopa’s defense team requesting a list żelazny (a document allowing suspects to participate in legal proceedings without the risk of arrest), the Warsaw District Court denied their request. The court argued that such a measure would not guarantee the proper legal procedures would be followed.

Szopa is at the center of an investigation involving the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS) in Poland. Authorities suspect that officials at RARS may have abused their authority and neglected their duties during the procurement and management of goods, leading to the ongoing scrutiny of Szopa’s involvement.
