Ferry crews have ended a four-day strike earlier than planned, returning to work on Friday afternoon instead of midnight.

The strike, which could have disrupted travel plans for the upcoming long weekend, was called off after the seamen’s union reached agreements with the government regarding working conditions and unemployment benefits.

The union continues to push for their demands, which include a 12% pay raise, as part of a broader effort to restore rights lost during previous financial crises.

In addition to the ferry strike, school teachers protested for salary increases and job security earlier in the week, highlighting ongoing labor challenges in Greece. [AP]
