Defence minister urges troops to end insecurity in Northwest

The Minister of Defence, Mohammad Badaru, visited troops in the Northwest to boost morale and encourage efforts in securing roads from banditry.

During his visit to Gurbin Baure, an area between Katsina and Zamfara States, Badaru highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the troops with necessary equipment and resources.

He commended the progress made in combating banditry along the Zaria-Gusau, Gusau-Jibia, and Katsina roads and emphasized the importance of public support in the ongoing campaign.

Badaru emphasized the need for cooperation among states and community involvement to effectively tackle the menace of banditry. He also visited the Air Component of Operation Fansar Yamma in Katsina, urging them to eliminate criminal elements and secure the airspace.

Accompanied by military officials, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s determination to end insecurity and protect motorists in the region.
