CRPF and SRPF: Understanding the Differences
CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) and SRPF (State Reserve Police Force) are two distinct organizations crucial for combating internal threats. While CRPF operates at the national level under the Ministry of Home Affairs, SRPF is a state force established based on specific state requirements. CRPF, formed in 1939 as the Crown Representative’s Police, focuses on maintaining law and order, counter-terrorism operations, and disaster relief services nationwide, especially in sensitive areas.
On the other hand, SRPF units, created at different times across states, aid state police in handling riots, crowd control, and emergency law and order situations.
