Ukraine to establish Cyber Forces as standalone military branch

The Defense Forces of Ukraine are making strides in modernizing their military capabilities by discussing the establishment of Cyber Forces within the structure of the Armed Forces. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared this development on Facebook, highlighting the importance of adapting to the evolving nature of warfare.

At a working meeting chaired by Lieutenant General Anatolii Barhylevych, key stakeholders reviewed the draft concept for the creation of Cyber Forces, considering the experiences of cyber warfare in other leading countries and Ukraine’s own defense efforts against Russia’s aggression.

The creation of Cyber Forces as a separate branch will enhance Ukraine’s military capabilities and enable effective planning and execution of tasks in the cyber domain. This move reflects Ukraine’s commitment to staying at the forefront of military innovation, with the recent establishment of the Unmanned Systems Forces showcasing the country’s proactive approach to defense.

By prioritizing the development of Cyber Forces, Ukraine is taking a significant step towards strengthening its national security and ensuring readiness for future challenges.
