At least 24 people lost their lives in the Philippines as Tropical Storm Trami wreaked havoc, causing devastating floods and landslides. The storm hit Isabela province, sweeping through Luzon and leaving many areas submerged. Heart-wrenching videos captured cars being swept away and villagers stranded on rooftops as rescue efforts were mobilized. Most casualties were reported in the Bicol region, particularly in Naga city where flash floods ravaged the area.

Despite authorities’ efforts to rescue thousands of affected individuals, many remain stranded due to flooded roads and blocked pathways. Brig General Andre Dizon highlighted the challenges faced in delivering essential supplies to those in need. The storm affected over two million people, displacing 75,400 villagers who sought refuge on higher ground.

As the country grapples with the aftermath of this natural disaster, the urgent need for support and solidarity becomes evident. The resilience of the Filipino community shines through in the face of adversity, emphasizing the importance of coming together in times of crisis.
